Navy wants Anti-Drone tools
The US Navy is asking that their next fleet of vehicles have Anti-Drone capabilities on them. Currently the program is being called Ground-Based Air Defense Directed Energy on the Move and it is currently soliciting bids to help with this program.
Their plan is to equip the Marines ground troops with powerful laser cannons that could shoot down drones to keep troops safe.
The technology to shoot objects down with lasers isn’t new, however getting them portable enough to fit into a Humvee is a different challenge altogether.
